Speaker: Gertrud Koch (The Free University Berlin/Brown University)
Professor Gertrud Koch, who teaches Cinema Studiest at The Free University Berline, is one of hte most distinguished film scholars in Germany today. She has published influential books on Herbert Marcuse and Siegfried Kracauer, feminist film theory, cinematic illusion, German feminism, the interrelationship between moving images and new gallery practives, and aesthetic theory.
This program is funded by a generous annual gift from Mrs. Lillian Rodig Maxwell, in memory of her brother, Dr. Oscar R. Rodig, Jr. R51, who studied Chemistry and German at Rutgers College, and in memory of her sister Erika Rodig Rosera D62, who studied History and German at Douglass College.
